Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01
Open your browser.
From the program menu, select View | Internet Options. Click on the Security tab.
In the Internet Zone section, if any selection other than Custom is selected, you are fine. If Custom is selected, click on the Settings button. In the Security Settings section, scroll down to the Scripting section, and under Active scripting, select either Prompt (which will present you with a dialog box every time active scripting is encountered) or Enable (which will fully enable active scripting without user interaction).
Click OK to close the Security Settings window, click Yes in the resulting warning box, and then click OK to save all changes and close the Internet Options window.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher
Open your browser.
From the program menu, select Tools | Internet Options. Click on the Security tab.
Click the Custom Level button. To easily enable this functionality, in the Reset custom settings section, select "Medium" in the Reset to: section and then click the Reset button. Alternately, in the Settings section, scroll down to the Scripting section, and under Active scripting, select either Prompt (which will present you with a dialog box every time active scripting is encountered) or Enable (which will fully enable active scripting without user interaction).
Click OK to close the Security Settings window, click Yes in the resulting warning box, and then click OK to save all changes and close the Internet Options window.
Netscape Communicator 4.0 or higher
Open your browser.
From the program menu, select Edit | Preferences. Click on the Advanced heading of the Category tree.
Make sure the Enable JavaScript box is enabled.
Click the OK button at the bottom to save these changes and close the Preferences window.
