Skills for life: ICT consultation
There is considerable development work getting underway to implement ICT as a new skill for life. QCA have developed a draft standard and are now moving to consider the associated curriculum with the intention that this will be piloted during 2004/5 and launched in 2005/6. There are many issues concerning with the best way to implement ICT as a skill for life. In order to encourage discussion amongst practitioners NIACE with the support of the Department for Education and Skills is organising an online discussion around the issues. (A discussion took place last November, indirectly as part of a QCA consultation and we developing and relaunching that discussion). We would very much like it if you and or others would join in. .

This discussion will operate from June through to September and is being managed by Peter Robinson one of the consultants who worked on the QCA draft. He can be contacted at PeterFRobinson@ntlworld.com. To participate you must be registered with direct-ed.

The draft standards can be downloaded by clicking on the links below. The documents are PDF's and require Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4 or above. Click here to install if you do not have the required version.

This discussion is part of a wider consultation process. Further details of the consultation, and other ways of being involved, have been posted inside the actual discussion.

Please join in.
